October 2026

Roles, crop and portal update - 7 October

New

  • Roles and permissions (Pro). Owners create roles such as Developer, HR Manager or Accountant at Settings - Roles, choosing for each area of the product whether the role has no access, view only, normal work access or manage rights. Pick a role when inviting someone, or change it later in Members. Owners and admins always reach everything.
  • Members become employees automatically. Inviting someone can add them to HR as an employee with default details when they accept. "Add missing members" on the Employees page catches up everyone already in the workspace.
  • Image crop. Choosing an image anywhere (avatar, logos, page images, attachments, chat) opens a crop step first, with zoom and move. On the phone the avatar is cropped.

Improved

  • The splash screen stays at least 2.5 seconds and now shows on the home page too.
  • The customer support portal shows the workspace name and logo.
  • Roles show as coloured badges on the Members list and the phone's Team screen, and sections a role closes are hidden from navigation.

Fixed

  • Turning on browser push no longer fails with a 400 error.
  • Chat reaction details no longer hide behind neighbouring reactions, and scrollbars follow the dark and light theme.
  • The sidebar has one workspace arrow instead of two.
  • Profile photos now show on incoming and active call screens on the web.
  • You stay in the workspace you were using. Refreshing a session used to drop anyone with two workspaces back into their first one after about 15 minutes, which made content look like it had vanished.
  • The workspace logo can now be set under Settings - General on the web and under Settings - General on the Android app (1.8), as well as under Email - Branding.

Web and platform update - 6 October

Email templates, automation, HR and faster starts, live on the web and API. The Android app is unchanged since 1.7 (build 8) apart from the phone time-off request, which ships with its next build.

New

  • HR → Organization. Create departments (with a head) and positions, see how many people are in each, and read your company as an org chart built from who reports to whom. The Add employee form has "+ New" beside Department and Position, so you never leave a half-filled form.
  • Email you can edit. Reword any email, restyle the header and footer separately, and add your workspace logo. Send yourself a test first. Wording per event is Pro; layout and logo are open to every plan.
  • Automation with a catalogue. Pick triggers and actions from lists, use variables in any text, add conditions, waits and HTTP calls, and dry-run a rule before turning it on.
  • HR, rebuilt to fit your company.
    • Your own employee fields (text, number, date, choice and more), with HR-only and employee-editable switches, in Settings → HR.
    • Leave types with yearly allowances, carry-over, half days and a holiday calendar. Requests count working days and check your balance.
    • An employee profile with job history, time-off balances, documents, emergency contacts and private HR notes.
    • Import employees from CSV with a check before anything is saved, and export the directory.
    • My profile for every member, daily reminders for anniversaries, probation, contract ends and expiring documents, and a dashboard of who is away and who is new.
    • Phone: request time off with a leave type and half day, and see your balance.
  • Details for any user in Admin → Users: sign-in methods, sessions, API keys, connected AI apps, devices and recent activity on one screen.
  • Create a CRM pipeline with its stages in one step.
  • Profile photos everywhere. A photo you upload or link shows wherever your avatar appears: tasks, chat, HR, members, notices.
  • Activity calendar in the CRM, with log-activity from any day.
  • API keys can be scoped to every module a key could reasonably need, not only a handful.
  • Browser push settings say why a notification was or was not delivered.
  • Real Microsoft Teams and Outlook logos on the integrations page, the share dialog and the phone.
  • Campaign editor with variables you can insert into the subject and body.
  • Reactions show who reacted. The voice-message player is one row with a speed control.

Improved

  • Faster starts. Projects, labels, custom fields, members, plans and HR settings are kept on your device for a day and refreshed in the background, on the web and on the phone. Signing out clears them.
  • Getting started updates as soon as you connect Slack or Teams, and refreshes when you come back to the tab.
  • The workspace list in the sidebar can be collapsed.
  • Date and time pickers follow your theme. Selects open below their trigger.
  • Closing a subtask returns you to its parent. Every view refreshes after a change.
  • Tabs on a page survive a reload.
  • Chat load errors no longer look like an empty channel. The notification badge shows its real count.
  • Contact emails name the sender and the workspace, and unsubscribe links and sender names are fixed.
  • Signing in to an account that has no workspace explains what to do instead of failing.
  • Departments and positions are checked against your workspace, and renaming one to a name already in use is refused with a clear message.

Android 1.7 (build 8) - 5 October

New

  • Chat on web and phone: mentions, quotes, pinned messages, mute, search, typing indicators and presence.
  • The Android app rings when it is closed, logs every call in its chat, and shows a proper "You're sharing your screen" notification.
  • Notification icons use the Axonplane mark.

Fixed

  • Screen sharing, call controls that slid off screen, and several layout problems in chat.

4 October

New

  • Slack, Teams and calendars. Connect once and work from there: events post to Slack or Teams channels, share any task, deal or ticket to a channel, /axonplane works inside Slack, and your assigned tasks appear on your Google or Outlook calendar.
  • Sprints on tasks, and the phone brought level with the web.
  • Deleted accounts are erased on a daily schedule once their 30-day grace has run out.

Improved

  • The Terms and Privacy Policy describe what the platform does today, including connected AI apps and Google Calendar data.

3 October

New

  • People can report and block in chat, with a review queue for owners and admins. Registering asks you to agree to the Terms.
  • A better project board: card keys such as KEY-42, filters, saved column positions, quick add, card menus, a live board that updates as others work, a list view, swimlanes, WIP limits and keyboard shortcuts.

Fixed

  • Every card now appears on a busy board, a drop keeps its position after a refresh, and a task's status and its column always agree.

September 2026

30 September

New

  • Plans are enforced. The limits on each package (members, projects, contacts, tickets, storage, AI requests) are real, over-limit actions explain themselves, and upgrade screens replace gated pages. See Billing for what your plan includes.
  • Email verification at sign-up, and two-factor sign-in (authenticator app and recovery codes) that applies however you sign in.
  • One Free workspace per person.

Improved

  • Invitations check who is accepting them.

29 September

New

  • The in-app assistant can use your own MCP servers (Enterprise): a wiki, an order system, a ticketing tool. You decide per tool whether it runs on its own, asks first, or stays off.
  • The Android app is ready for Google Play.

24 and 25 September: connect your AI

New

  • Axonplane is an MCP server. Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor and VS Code can read and change your workspace (Pro and above): tasks, projects, boards, CRM, support tickets and chat.
  • Connect by signing in instead of pasting a key, and change what a connected app may reach without reconnecting.
  • Owners and admins set the rules: switch AI apps off, limit them to admins, and cap each area at off, read or write.
  • Ready-made prompts, typed results, a monthly allowance with warnings at 80% and 100% on the bell, usage figures per tool, and Enterprise tools for HR and an audit export.
  • A public guide at /connect-ai.

Improved

  • A security review of the sign-in server closed forgeable rate limits, open redirects and token reuse.

24 September: chat that is real time

New

  • Chat is live. Messages arrive as they are sent rather than on a timer, private channels and DMs are private, and you can attach files and record voice notes.
  • Voice and video calls in direct messages, on web and phone.

Improved

  • Members file and cancel only their own time off, and "on leave" follows the leave's dates.

23 September

New

  • A phone client for Android. The same workspace on the phone: tasks, projects, CRM, support, HR, chat, notifications, files and the admin section. Sign in with Google or GitHub without tokens in a URL.
  • Native push notifications.
  • Invitations you can actually accept.
  • HR analytics, and every workspace-scoped record is now tied to its workspace in the database.

Fixed

  • Switching workspace now moves your whole session, not just the header.

22 September

New

  • A mobile and tablet layout for the web app: a bottom bar replaces the sidebar on small screens, tables scroll instead of squashing, and dialogs fit the screen.

Fixed

  • A redirect loop between a stale sign-in and the site, and a login screen shown to people already signed in.
  • Mail is never sent to a domain that cannot receive it.

21 September

New

  • A new home page built around the whole platform.
  • Sign in with Google and GitHub, configured from the admin console.
  • Terms and Privacy pages written against what the platform really does.

20 September

New

  • The platform is Axonplane. New name, logo and domain.
  • Pages (CMS). Axonplane's own public pages are written inside Axonplane, and every workspace can publish its own, served from its customer portal. Markdown with live preview, an image library, tags, scheduled publishing, saved revisions and preview links.

Improved

  • Published pages carry canonical URLs, link previews and structured data. robots.txt and sitemap.xml are generated from what is actually published.

19 September

New

  • Billing through Polar. Packages are a catalogue an admin edits and a customer buys. A paid plan applies right after checkout.
  • Credentials in the admin console. Third-party keys live, encrypted, at Admin → Settings instead of in server files.
  • Reminders and scheduled reports run on a clock that fires once however many servers are running.

16 and 17 September: hardening after launch

Fixed

  • A broad security pass: cross-workspace leaks in notifications, support tickets and chat history, missing role checks across HR, CRM and billing, server-side request forgery through webhook URLs, an expensive unauthenticated refresh path, unvalidated input across many endpoints, and soft-deleted workspaces that still worked.
  • Offboarding now revokes access, and a removed person's token stops working.
  • Login and registration on the live site, and a loop that sent you back to the marketing page.
  • A select showed the raw value instead of the chosen label, and form controls lacked labels.
  • A task can be created from anywhere, and a project member is shown and picked by name.

15 September: launch

  • The first release: work management, a full HRIS, CRM, a support desk with a public customer portal, team chat and marketing campaigns in one multi-tenant platform, with web and API deployed from one command.
